If you like the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, you're gonna want to give Merry
a listen. Perhaps one of the first visual bands to incorporate
such heavy ska and rockabilly into their music, they still manage to
sound like neither and both while maintaining a certain visual kei
appeal.
Sitting down to a meal of Merry is like having the same
lunch every day. You really crave and enjoy it for a while, but
eventually you want something different. Peep Show is like
the leftovers of your favorite dish. You eat it because it's your
favorite and it brings back some nice memories. It doesn't help
that they have several "new" versions of old songs on the album that
don't really sound all that new.
If there is one strong point to Merry, it's that you'll
always recognize their particular sound, but you may not remember the
particular song.
