It's a side of Miyavi only
caught in small batches, an acoustic song that hits you soft or hard,
but always hits you. Miyaviuta is an entire album full of
his
acoustical romping. Who knew a guitar could sound so fun and
raunchy?
Fast and raucous rounds like "how to love" and the
Spanish influenced "Baka ni hito" keep the toes tapping. Bluegrass
and a southern funkyness find their way into "Kimi ni Funky Monkey
Vibration."
Miyavi's signature strumming shines in songs like "Dear my
love..." where you get a treat with some of his prettiest melodies in a
wordless serenade to his beloved acoustic guitar.
The album is both simple and complicated. The tap
of a drum stick, thumping bongos, the shake of a maraca and the twang of
the guitar are the only recurring instruments, but each part is so
intricately put together you can almost bear with Miyavi's off-key
singing.
