Title: renai

With a sound that reflects a sense of rockabilly and the blues, SID has
slid into the indie scene like a smooth shot of Southern Comfort. Renai opens with "Ajisai" (Hydrangea) and Mao's crooning vocals, fooling listeners with a slower beat before hitting them with the fast and funky "Rinjin." Fans of SID's older work will be happy to see remixed versions of "Ao" and "Watashi wa ame" included as
well.
Track six introduces "Hisuyouaku" and turns the album 180 degrees with its heavy grit. After some more fast and foot-tapping tunes, SID turns another 180 degrees with a
desperate ballad, "Sora no Binsen, Sora e no Tegami."
If there's any complaint about Renai, it would be that it
leaves you wanting to hear more. Even with 11 unique tracks, the album
seems short. Renai is an impressive first album that kept my
finger on the replay button and my feet wanting to get up and dance.
