Psycho le
Cemu gives us some beautiful music with its second major album,
Beautiful World. The album kicks right into high gear with the
fast and apocalyptical "NEO" and keeps the energy going through the
dawn of "Michi no
Sora," before segueing into the softer and very oriental-sounding "omoide
aruki."
The band takes fans along with them as they traverse a
transcontinental railroad of sounds and emotions. The album is
chock full of fast and hard tunes such as the rap-sung "one day"
and "Scream," a song that commands the listener in harsh tones to
get up and headbang. Sprinkled amidst this axe-grinding landscape
are a brightly colored bunch of foot-tapping tunes such as "Twinkle
package" and "UNIVERSE," which break through like the sun on a
cloudy day. Thrown in for some country fun are "Kanojo to
Furudokei" and a Gekiai-ish sounding "Yumekazaguruma." There's even a ballad, "Inori," full of piano
tracks and a soulful refrain.
Beautiful World treats each track like a separate planet with
its own atmosphere and biology of music. With it, Psycho le Cemu
has given fans a galaxy of an album with more variety than
previous releases and a bit of bio-engineering experimentation we hope to
see in future works.
