T.M. Revolution
Concert
There's something to be said about having professionals running an event. Reed Expo pulled out all the stops for T.M. Revolution at the 2008 New York Comicon with a stage that rivaled most stadiums and excellent sound for a carpeted meeting room inside the Jacob Javitz Center.

For such a little person, Takamori Nishikawa (TMR) packs a big punch on stage. He proclaimed his love for New York with a giant smile and a dirty wink before launching into the hour and a half set, a set filled with delicious exuberance and a slow strip tease as pieces of clothing flung themselves free from his body in fits of ecstasy. T.M. Revolution's stage presence is arresting in a spunky, cute and altogether sexy persona. His playfulness extends to teasing security, the crowd and his backup band.

Fans of Japanese animation are not your typical music fans. Most have never been to a rock concert, but this didn’t stop them from returning the love with lots and lots of signs with messages like, “We love TMR” and “TMR, marry me!” If TMR thought his solo career was waning, you'd never expect it from the crowd's excitement. He filled the set list with familiar songs from the Gundam anime series and unreleased material from his upcoming single. Two encores and numerous bows later, you could see TMR's desire to just continue playing for his fans until he dropped from the sheer joy of performing or until security kicked everyone out. |
